The ancient Stannary town of Tavistock with its mediaeval Abbey is only a short drive away and has a daily Pannier Market and fortnightly Farmers Market. Tavistock and the surrounding area is now a World Heritage site.

Within 1 hours drive or less are the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Garden House, RHS Rosemore, Paignton Zoo, Plymouth Aquarium, Morwelham Quay and many National Trust properties and gardens including Cotehele, Saltram. Lanhydrock, Castle Drogo and just in the next village is the spectacular Lydford Gorge with it's famous White Lady waterfall.

Beauty spots such as Dawlish, Lynmouth, Clovelly, Bude, Boscastle and Tintagel are all within comfortable reach.

The surrounding area offers ample golfing, riding, sailing, canoeing, fishing, cycling and walking facilities plus lots more. Also the ancient ruins of Lydford and Okehampton castles, and not forgetting Dartmoor with it’s breathtaking scenery and of course the famous Dartmoor ponies.
